Update 12/29/2018: The Teaching Learning Technology Center has successfully upgraded Blackboard to the “cloud”. The move to the cloud will ensure downtime is minimized, while allowing Blackboard to deliver new features, fixes, and updates more frequently and with little to no downtime.
In your dashboard, the Blackboard app will now appear at the bottom. You may click on the app to drag-and-drop it to the top. You will also receive a notification that you have been “assigned Blackboard – SaaS”.
The Blackboard experience will remain the same, but it will have increased stability, data recovery, and faster updates. Learn more about the new features in the Blackboard update here.
Issue has been resolved as of 10am.
Service Desk is reporting that some users are not able to login into Blackboard. Also course enrollments for some courses are not appearing. Others have not been effected.
We are investigating the issue and working to resolve it as quickly as possible.
Update @ 8:30am – The upgrade was successful. Blackboard is now available and functioning as expected.
Blackboard Learn will be unavailable on Sunday, August 13th, from 12 a.m. to 12 p.m.
During the University’s regularly scheduled IT summer maintenance week, Sunday, August 13, the Blackboard Learn servers will be upgraded.
7:00 AM Update – Maintenance has been completed. Blackboard Learn is working as expected.
Blackboard Managed Hosting has informed the Department of Information Technology that critical maintenance is required on the University’s hosted learning system. Blackboard learn will be unavailable on Sunday, July 2nd, from 12 a.m. to 10 a.m. Please plan your work accordingly.
3:30 pm – Blackboard has resolved the issue, the Learning System is now available.
2:37 pm – Blackboard Managed Hosting is reporting issues at their data center. This is affecting our instance of Blackboard. You will not be able to access Blackboard at this time.
Several other clients have been effected by this and Blackboard Manages Hosting is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
As updates are received they will be posted here.
At this time the community is unable to login to Compass. We are aware of the problem and are working with our partner to restore access as soon as possible.

During the University’s regularly scheduled weekly maintenance, this Sunday, March 13, the Blackboard Learn servers will be upgraded to provide additional assessment options.
Blackboard will be unavailable from 12 a.m. midnight through 8 a.m. Please plan your work accordingly.
The Blackboard monitoring team has notified the Department of Information Technology that the University’s Blackboard environment needs to undergo emergency maintenance.
In order to be proactive, this maintenance will require taking the system offline to prevent any performance issues.
As a result, Blackboard learning management system will not be available the morning of Wednesday, February 3rd from 2 to 4 a.m. Please plan accordingly
